im still waiting to hear back about the fees for 3rd year. I. am. itching to go back. i havent been working these days so need purpose. im back in on the 20th of september. supposed to have a handier work load so that should be savage.
i realise this wont be used for a while but no harm starting it back

I have an interview for a course on September 2nd. Quite nervous about going back (fingers crossed an' all),but looking forward to it at the same time. The course I applied for is Media studies and journalism.

Re: School/College Discussion
Somehow passed first year with good results. Start 2nd year in a month and a bit, if I remember to re-register that is..
Re: School/College Discussion
Did way better than I expected in the leaving so should be going to DCU for Computer Applications at the end of september.

Re: School/College Discussion
I felt a bit let down and fed up with the first year of my course (engineering), but after I got through the exams unscathed, I realised that it wasn't actually too bad at all, so I'm really looking forward to starting second year now (thought i think that has more to do with wanting to be able to stop working once the summer is finished...)
Well done Ced. My friend is about to start second year of that course, he seems to love it. He says that everything they do is practical and gets used, bar the business module that he labels pointless. If you see a second year that's a viking, that's him.Ced wrote:Did way better than I expected in the leaving so should be going to DCU for Computer Applications at the end of september.

Tight, I've been reading about it and it sounds like it's tough, but in a challenging way.

I'm doing a preliminary Chemistry course and it's deadly! I love Chemistry. Hope I still love it by the end of the year.

I'm looking into science in Trinity, any advice? Why'd ya drop out? Hoping to specialise in neuroscience, although I was advised that a general science degree gives you a broader idea of each of the branches, rather than going straight into a neuroscience degree.

Re: School/College Discussion
I'm in the middle of picking my classes now. I can pick pretty much anything that doesn't clash with the mandatory Japanese, but it has to be in the humanities campus 'cause the other ones are too far away (and thus would clash with the mandatory ones).

Have a friend doing science in Trinity (2nd year) and hoping to go into Neuroscience, its very much possible to do so but very competitive to get it. You have to be pretty much at the top of the game from day 1 to have a chance of getting it in 3rd year.

Oh right, I hadn't thought there would be severely limited places. That's lame.. There's a straight out neuroscience course in UCD that should be easier to get into. You're in Trinity aren't you? How do you find it?

Pretentious and cuntish I imagine.
Re: School/College Discussion
I dropped out because I was doing Maths and Physics and I'm not very good at Maths or Physics. It's pretty awesome though. I love the place - and lectures were pretty good too.
Phlegms is right though, Nueroscience is very hard to get. I've no idea what Nueroscience in UCD is like, but I imagine the competitiveness of getting into it in Trinity makes it all the more awesome.
And yeah, Trinners is totally for winners.

Re: School/College Discussion
Thinking about maybe dropping out of my course. No Maths or Physics at all this year. It's nearly all Chemistry (which I hate and nearly failed last year) and a bit of biology which I also hated last year and nearly failed. Probably won't drop out though. Wouldn't know what to do if I did.
