This was another long running thread back on the old site so might as well start it off again

The Invention of Lying - 6/10

Interesting premise but it's just not funny enough for a comedy.Am I the only one who thinks Ricky Gervais is completely overrated?

Centurion - 8/10

Pretty decent action flick set in Roman Britain

Watched Toy Story 3 the other night. I loved it. Felt strange when I heard someone say the first was released in 1995.

Saw Inception last night, thought it was great. Marion Cotillard is amazing, her performance was perfect as usual. Would recommend it to anyone.

Thomas Edison's Frankenstein (1910)

8/10
Very short but manages to tell a different version of the story and was enjoyable.

Just watched Memoirs of a Geisha there with my sister, it's a beautiful film. Second half is a little weak but it's an all round good watch.

Dark Floors - 7/10

Not bad for what I assume was a reasonably low budget horror.Ending was a little confusing though.Oh and Lordi are in it Laughing

The Expendables 7/10

I like it. It's a good action film. Ok the story is crap but the action scenes are brilliant.

Nice to see alot of actions star in one film. Bruce Willis and Arnies roles are pointless in this film.

P.S

Terry Crews has one of the most awesome action scenes ever.

The Expendables 9/10

As with the above posts, Story was a tad shit.. But there was so many explosions to keep everyone happy imo.

Terry Crews was awesome.
Most of the characters were good.

First movie that I have enjoyed in quite a while!

The Karate Kid (remake) - 7/10

Apart from the main kid being allowed to talk I thought it was pretty good. Although naming it the Karate Kid and then basing it on Kung Fu is just silly. Neutral

Iron Man 2 - 8/10

Enjoyable sequel.Mickey Rourke was underused though

Robin Hood - 8/10

Very good apart from the fact that it has virtually nothing to do with the Robin Hood story until the very end of the movie

Not bad.Could have been funnier

Observe and Report - 5/10

Not great.Main character comes across as creepy rather than funny.I dunno if that's deliberate or not though

Black Dynamite - 9/10

Probably the funniest thing I've seen in ages Laughing

The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.

It was amazing. I cried in the really really sad bit though.

8/10. They lost two cause I didn't get the chance to play the girl in it and work with Zac Efron.

Keep in mind, I'm a teenage girl. Guys in their twenties or thirties aren't particularly the target audience...

Another brilliant Will Ferrell. Funniest film of the year.

I can't really say much about it because I would be spoiling some of the best bits in the film.

Saw 7: 7/10

The only reason I see these films are for the story and how creative the traps are.

- Much better then 6.
- Story was good and have the 2nd best twisted of all the 7 films.
- It ended the series very well but also leaves it open for more.
- The traps were better then 6 but still crap.
- 3D was pointless.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World - 3/10

Wow. Just wow.

I can't believe they butchered the comic so badly. Look I understand that you can't do scene by scene shot from comic to movie but when you start mixing up scenes complete, that's a different story.

For example:

These are just a few of the thing that pissed me off about this film. But I have to say, Lucas fight was better in the film the in the comic.

When all my friends said this movie was brilliant but obliviously anyone that says this movie is brilliant hasn't read the comic.

Inception - 9/10

A tad confusing at times but overall pretty cool

The Green Hornet - 6/10

Average tbh.Would expect a Seth Rogen movie to be funnier

The Other Guys - 9/10

Not really a huge Will Ferrell fan but I thought this was absolutely hilarious though a lot of this is down to the rest of the cast(admittedly I was a wee bit drunk watching this so it may have had some effect on my enjoyment)

Superbad - Only saw it for the first time on friday. It's good, I liked it but I hadn't been exposed to that kind of immature, overused high school guy humour for a while
